The Lonely War
Our role as consciousness is to filter these possibilities and act on the ones that will best serve us.
This daunting task is simpler when we have a framework to work within.
This framework is simply a set of values and virtues that act as our decision making guide.
This is what every religion provides.
Christianity is relatively simple, if it aligns with the framework it is good and if it doesn't it is evil.
Since we live in the post-death of God era atheists do not have a clear framework. Instead their framework is created by the morality of the age and the lessons of their upbringing.
So instead of having a cloudy framework we should build out our own clear one. To do this we pick a set of virtues and values and religiously follow them.
No framework will ever be perfect, so do not ail yourself with your own dogma.
With our framework we can do like the Christians and say if it aligns with the framework it is good and if it doesn't it is evil.
In practice, we can see this from David Goggins who values persistence and dedication. If the possibility in his mind is unaligned, then it is his inner b*tch speaking, it is the devil.
We can navigate through the infinite possibilities bubbling up in our minds with a set of guiding values and virtues and then label the aligning possibilities as our inner sublimity and the rest as inner demons.
So, my friends, your lonely war has been conceptualized, I wish you glory on the battlefield.
