Stress-Less
In order to live purely in the moment, the mind must be able to resolutely hold its attention there.
Our world provides us innumerable corroders of our attention, but one of the most acidic is stress.
This harpy has sunk its claws far too deep into our minds, she must be tended to.
Stress is the body's alarm system, warning you that there are things to tend to.
Left untended, our minds can become an overstressed mess.
A mess that overwhelms us and prevents us from action, thus leading us to the abysses of indecision and indolence.
Imagine trying to think, let alone work, in a space where at least 40 alarms are continuously and simultaneously going off.
Far too many people are living like this (or at least partially), yet the solution is simple;
When you hear an alarm, turn it off.
Non-metaphorically, when an idea/task/stressor comes into your mind, categorize it, identify the next step and put it somewhere you will check again.
Get yourself a notebook, digital or paper, this is your baby, it is the first and last thing you look at, it will be a guidebook written by you for you.
When an idea/task/stressor comes into your mind write down exactly what the task is and what the smallest next step is on the path to accomplishment.
The alarm is now turned off since we can trust that that which is stressing us will receive the needed attention.
Done rigorously, this can bring us miles closer to living stress-free & indiscriminately in the here and now.
Reclaim your attention and get back to milking this gracious existence for every drop it has.
