The thing about sensualists is they are devoid of passion.
It is this sensualistic culture that has dug its roots deep into our society.
So then, when we look around we see people living passionless existences.
They slave away eight hours a day so that they can have the means to satiate their desires.
Their time away from their slaving is not time spent in introspection, but extrospection.
Their non-slaving hours are used to watch the news, play video games, scroll, watch the latest Disney movie or the newest Netflix series.
Or maybe they spend it getting drunk and clubbing.
Anything to avoid that treaded time alone.
To them the silent minute is a terror and must be muffled.
How could this be? How could one not enjoy the silence in one's own garden?
For when the strings of desire are not pulling him, he knows not who he is or what he is to do.
Such is the life of the sensualist, devoid of passion.
We are pulled by two great stallions, our desires and our passions.
One of these is grossly neglected in our modern culture.
So then, if we are out of touch with our passions, what we must do is re-spark them.
We must find those domains in which we can exert our unique passions.
This can be done by exploring new domains, but is most simply done by reflecting on what activities in your life have brought out your passion.
Find these, and get consumed by them.
It is through these unique passions that we become closer to ourselves, that we become more than just our desires.
So I ask you; What would you rather be consumed by, your desires, or your passions?
