Memento Mori
Luck has not left me; She gifted me life,
Another sun; Another moon,
Another journey; Another conquest,
Gratitude; indebtedness,
To luck; To favour,
To ancestry; To my begetter,
To this strange existence; I am indebted,
How odd; This strange existence,
Tis but dust; Fashioned to observe,
How favourable; This fortuitous existence,
Tis but dust; Fashioned to endure,
Strange; Strange to be dust observing dust,
To be born of dust; Destine to reunite,
This dust is evanescent; Destine for the wind of time,
So to this fleeting existence; I am obliged,
For I was gifted; My fleeting time,
For I was offered; A world of beauty,
For I was granted; A world to conquer,
For I am dust; Observing dust,
For this I am forever beholden.
