Into the Cold
How most live retreating to the wombs comfort,
Birthed into the cold wailing for warmth,
Most never change,
Most never learn the warmth of the cold,
Cold discomfort provokes our inner brilliance,
Here in the cold, I am taught of my own warmth.
___
To me, the cold metaphorically represents pain and suffering, and the warmth, comfort.
The beauty of the cold is that it is a real pain, it is a suffering caused by reality.
I am someone seeking a mental quenching, aspiring to create an iron Will, and thus, the cold has become my friend.
If you seek an iron Will then the endurance of pain and suffering is required.
So then, the cold must become your friend.
Go to your shower, turn it as cold as you can, and step into it.
Your body will spaz. It will freak out, sending you a million and one alerts trying to get you to leave the cold.
But you must preserver.
Control your rushing mind, focus on regulating your breathing, and then, endure.
Our lungs are our only controllable organ, breathing connects the consciouses to the unconscious, and thus, regulating breathing regulates the mind.
Cold showers will teach you control of impulse, harmony of thought and Will, pain/suffering endurance, and my personal favourite, it will make the remainder of your day easier.
So then I say that it is imperative that you willingly step into the cold.
In that cold shower you will learn of your inner “Invincible summer” that is your Will.
And thus, we march into the cold so we may learn of our inner warmth.
