No two moments shall ever be the same, for all in each moment is birthed anew.
No moment shall ever be had twice, for it is not the same moment and you are not the same man.
But it is not such novelty that most feel or see, most live in the numbed trance of routine.
Through their dull eyes and damp spirit, the day presents itself as mundane and routine.
But I say that the root of their problem is not their day, but the searchingness of their eyes.
The wonder of the world shall only be revealed to the searching eye, look and you shall find.
But if all is ever changing and each moment presents infinite novelty, what can be held?
Nothing. All is fleeting. All is in flux. To cling to anything is to hold sand.
Yet this is the beauty of life, that each moment in all its glory and beauty shall return to dust.
You will never be able to hold any moment again, and thus, we must cherish and love it in the here and now.
The family around you, the sky above you, the wind in your hair, the water on your tongue, the birds chirping.
Endlessly the world will provide you with moments to cherish and love, yet endlessly it will take them from you.
We are bound by this evanescent existence, and so I pray your eyes search for the novelties.
I pray you search for the little moments gifted only to you, the 'sand mandalas' that only your eyes will know.
I pity all those who die with dull eyes and a damp spirit, may your eyes know wonder and your spirit know the passion of flames.
